Hello my Friends.
Not posted in quite a while.
What a crazy year it has been for me.At the end of January I fell out of the bath and fractured two vertebrae in my neck which caused a trapped nerve and loss of grip in my left hand.No modelling for me for months and months.I had started a Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood with an Eduard etch set and an Art wox wooden deck.Well ten months later and it is still not finished,I did estimate it to take me a couple of months..lol..I just have a few railings to put on now and then I will be masking the deck ready for painting...oh yes my arm and neck are much better now but I'm still a little slow...It will probably take about another month or so before I get it finished, but finish it I will.
Happy modelling everyone.
Ralph.

Thanks guys.
You may be wondering how I fell out of the bath..Well it wasn't the first time.lol.
Paula used to help me in and out due to Arthritis in my knee but when she passed,I had no choice but to do it by myself. The first time I struggled to get in the bath and as I was getting out my knee gave way and I fell and twatted my head on the sink, giving myself a black eye.My son told me not to get in the bath anymore and he got in touch with the Council for some help.I was just having washes and the Council gave me a raised chair to sit on while having washes.after months of doing this I felt unclean and thought f*%# it, I need a bath.Again as I was getting out my knee gave way and I fell, landing full whack on the floor and injuring my neck and arm.Months went by again of having washes until finally the council gave me a chair to get in and out of the bath.

Ralph,
If your accommodation is housing association you should be eligible to have a shower installed instead of a bath. Worth checking.

Bill

I had foreseen the time when it would be difficult to come out of bath, I replaced the tub by a shower the same surface, to have place enough to move, with a stool . Great .....

Bill,I'm in a council house and they won't install a shower bay.

Ralph,
Push this with your GP. If he say's you can't use a bath for medical reasons they are obliged to provide a shower. It largely depends on how bad your physical condition is.
The council will argue and whine but they have a duty of care for their tenants.

Our shower/bathroom is on the lower floor of our place. Shower units are great, but I do miss a good long soak in a bathtub.
I wanted to install a bath upstairs before we moved in - but was over-ruled by "Little Boss". Probably because it was my idea...

Good to hear you're well on the road to recovery Ralph.
Cheers

As Bill says, get a letter from your GP and then make life miserable for your councillor.
Effectively the council are corporately putting you at risk.
