Another loss for the gray army... Finished in Andrea acrylics. The sword blade and helmet are the buffed metal of the kit. The helmet is designed to hang down from the left hand, but it isn't hollowed out; it only has a shallow depression. I opted to put it on the ground and use wine bottle foil for straps. I left the fist clinched to show some post-battle tension. Backside follows (doesn't it always...?).

Hey Glen

Great work. I like the colours that you have used. Keep on going the good work
Glen.

Greetings Dick ;)

Hi there!

Congradulations for your figure,it looks really nice!Judging from the colors you've chosen I understand you like effects:unshaved face, redish face, brownish tone of white for the tunic!I think the problem is not in the contrast. You've chosen very dark basic colors and you didn't manage to reach the higher highlights(which is normal!).Next time start with a normal basic flesh tone and start with the shadows.Giving him thinned paint of brownish-redish color you may recieve the effect you want ;).

Congrds again!

Thanks everyone. I'll keep the suggestions in mind, especially the increased highlights. The actually are some contrasts in there, but I think my photo efforts may have muddied things up a bit, especially the highlights on the tan portion of the surcoat.

I've just finished Time Machine's 54mm resin Saladin. I'll post some pics later this week.

I have Pegaso's 54mm Celtic Chieftain on the bench now. This figure prompted my 'Painting Bronze' post elsewhere on this forum. I'm going to experiment a bit, I think.

Cheers,

Glen
