Hi,

I picked up some supersculpy and i've been playing around with it for a bit. the first thing i noticed is that it's a bit to plyable for my liking (i.e. i keep squashing it) is they're a way to firm up the sculpy so that it will be a bit more robust?

second, can any one point me towards any online how-to's for scuptin heads in 54mm (or about scales close to 54mm)

thanks,
Mike

Mike there are several ways to do this, but probably the best is to mix it with Fimo which is a stiffer clay. If you mix it with some black Fimo, it'll turn the SS a nice shade of dark gray that's easier to work with than that ugly pink!

You can also leach the SS by placing it between several sheets of paper/cardboard and putting a heavy book over it for a few hours.

I mixed my super sculpey with Fimo, and this helped. However the Fimo I used was white... my bad. I also tried leaching and that is very good as well. I actually learned these techniques a few weeks ago by the same fsdesimone on a different forum lol.

Heh heh. Well, it's not like I invented them or anything. Just spreading the knowledge! ;)

Hi,
I made an article in the Etendard Occitan website. I sculpted a head with super sculpey. The details are made with magic sculp.
Unfortunately the text is in french but maybe you speek it ?
ARTICLE
I you prefer it has been translated in spanish ;)
Article in Lilliput
Nevertheless I think the pictures speek for themselves.
I hope this will be of some help.
Bye Jean-Philippe
