Good Day. So I am curious as to what you think about this, my very first flat figure. I got it from my friend Rick Taylor, who thought this would be a good way to stretch my painting skills. I was a little dubious about the whole process at first but I can now say I thoroughly enjoyed painting this figure. Painting this flat did stretch my skills as well, so mission accomplished Rick, and there will more be more of these in my future for sure.

Thanks everyone. I have to admit to being quite satisfied with the final product, but don't worry about my head getting to big; Rick will have a look at it next weekend and then I'll get the full critique from the master.

I'd love to be able to comment but I can't see the photo.
Is it a Photobucket linked image as that would explain why I can't? For some odd reason Photobucket and similar sites are banned here because of their Adult/Sex Content.

Sorry to say Billy but it is a photobucket picture. I can try to upload the other version directly from my computer for you, as I was especially keen to hear your thoughts on this.

Image coming up as a text file, try changing the file name, at the moment it's showing as dscn1023-jpg.260710 try renaming it dscn1023-jpg

Don't know what to tell you Rich. When I click on it, I see the picture. In any case, how do you rename a photo file? That's how inept I am at technology. This is the first time I've uploaded a picture from my Mac onto the planet here, and had this problem.

Opened it!!! :D

Wow Glenn that's fantastic work!

If I was to offer any form of advice or critique I would say don't be afraid to go a bit deeper with your shadows where necessary. For example the top of the horses legs which are the furthest away from the viewer and along the bottom edge of the cloak where it is above the saddlecloth.
A cast shadow beneath the reins would also help to create a 3D appearance.

Get to work immediately on another one and push the light and shade a bit more, you're a natural at flat painting. (y)

Roger.
