WIP First WIP progression

Hi all
Messed up the face while correcting the demonic eyes, had to start over, but I think it's coming together...

Yes, they look much better now. Maybe some small correction on the left eye of the figure. Some skincolor on the outside of the eyeball to make them symetric/equal.
You can leave it this way and painting further on the bust. I always give a gloss varnish into the eye after completely dry. Then there is always a highlight into the eyes from the right side. If you like it, you can do a little wash with skincolor and a touch of red into the eyesocket.

That looks much better Mary. I agree with the Megroot about the symetry. Maybe a small "catchlight" is needed when the pupils are made the same size. This is a very small dot of white in the iris or pupil to give the impression of reflected light in the eye. I love the beard and the skin tones are done well.

Repeat repeat repeat... every time you put brush to figure you will improve, especially if you take advice from the members here. I can't say enough about the value of advice from experienced painters.
You are doing a great job... keep it up!!

Thanks Colin...when I wrecked the eyes and had to redo the entire face I was starting to wonder!
But you're certainly right about all the help here; PF is invaluable. The model is almost done; cleaned up a lot of the details and the eyes are as good as I can manage.
I'm already learning one of the toughest parts is knowing when to stop

Hi Mary

I think you're on the right track.
You can paint a figure also dead, you've got for you find the point where you're happy with your figure.
You can always improve.
