I have recently seen on PF Vbench or Showcase a figure of a "flapper", a 1920s female dancer in a pink knee length dress dancing to the Charleston dance. Does anyone know about this figure? What scale is it and where can I get one from? I am really interested in painting this.

Jeff is that not the Clara Bow Painted by our Supersnad, sometimes known as Brian.
John you may have seen it at Sword and Lance in Darlington.
Don

Sorry forgot to say he changed the dress colour after his first photos.

Jeff,

Are there any vendors in the US that stock your lines, or is it a direct from manufacturer sort of thing only at this point?

As a Jazz saxophonist myself, I am really digging the Clara Bow and Cab Calloway figures!

We have had people express interest in carrying our figures in the US, but we are not offering the kind of discounts they seem to be looking for.

You can order directly form our website if you would like.

Hello John, I have painted this figure Clara Bow the original IT Girl. It is a beautiful figure but there is a catch. My copy, which I purchased from Steve Kirtley was not a great casting I had to do a lot of cleaning up, flash in particular, IMHO this figure would have been better cast in resin as it is very delicate. However this will not stop me purchasing their Cab Calloway figure.
I hope you enjoy painting this figure as I did, but prepare it carefully.
Dennis

Thanks for the heads up Dennis. I will still get this figure I think. The end result hopefully will be worth the work. I havent seen the Cab Calloway figure. Are they both in 54mm?

I try and cast the cleanest figures I possibly can and am surprised that a Bow figure had a problem she usually casts very cleanly with little or no flash.

A few of our figures have very thin parts Cab Calloway has very thin coat tails and some flash the price I pay to get that very thin part to cast cleanly. Same with the collar of our Hughes figure, his collar is super thin. So this part has a little flash in that area same with the cape of our Valentino figure. To get it to cast cleanly a little flash is the price I pay I try very hard to make this kind of thing as easy to clean as possible in fact if I cannot simply push it off with my figures I usually just re-melt the figure.

I have been painting figures for a long time and have encountered issues with figures over the years. Each material has advantages and draw backs. I sometimes find it funny that people do not complain more about the big casting blocks present on on many resin figures. Sometimes on very thin parts. I do understand why things need to be done in this way it is the price casters pay for full clean parts and most of the time it is part of our job to trim all of that off.

That being said if you feel a kit we produce has a serious problem then please feel free to contact me. Or mail me the old figure and I will gladly send out a new figure. Even if you bought it from someone other then me. I want people to be happy with our figures. We started to this company to do something different and I think we have succeed in that. I will strive to keep quality as high as I can.
