Oddfellows ...... time to go off at a tangent. A strange if oddly addictive Scottish sweet now produced by Ross's and available along with other sugary blasts from the past from the wonderful Glickmans

Like a number of Scottish sweets you sometimes had difficulty in differentiating them from medicines.
Oddfellows if you ate more than a couple of them had the effect of making the inside of your mouth go numb.

Actually, there is(was) a group that's called "Fellowship of Oddfellows".....When I was a kid there was a gated lodge in the woods, very near me; but we were scared shitless to check it out, although tempted. I think they were founded in England.
