Now I've got this far I'm finding it difficult to hold back but I know if I rush it disaster will ensue, time for it to go back in the airing cupboard.

Besides tinkering with bits and pieces todays main job was highlighting and shading the cuirassiers trousers.

I like the red you've done. Is it the picture or do I see two different colours on the highlights? Up to an almost white on the hard creases and more yellowish on the top of the thighs?

Cheers Colin, there`s nothing wrong with your eyes. there`s still more work to be done on them but that's the gist of it.

Thanks Colin. After looking at hundreds of pics, some with white and some with red I decided it would look better with the Cuirassiers red trousers between two pairs of white.

Oh for sure, they did wear both, particularly in the line zouave regiments. The white were probably summer weight. The Guard Zouave regiment, I believe, always wore red with the yellow piping and trefoils.

Framing the cuirassier like that is a good idea, visually.
