firts figures painted

Here I’m coming with first three painted figures. They are done from some 90% with their uniforms and kepis, bread bags and belts finished. I’ve done the faces but still the final touch would be needed (hairs, eyes,) also hands are not done and finally all the metal bits and pieces needs to be finished.
Figures however have the pigments as a dirt simulation on them. When they will be finished to matt varnish cote will be applied on them (except faces, hands).
I’m also not fully satisfied with the “wound painting” on the dead soldier (well it should be actually his brain off), but here some oils will be most probably needed.

As regarding your comments, you’ve scored a direct hit, I know that some areas of figures are not as perfect as I would like them to be. I know I’m struggling with having some not cleaned areas and also hands and fingers are my big nightmare. There are figures where I’m fully happy with results, but some of them are not.
Other right is when viewing pictures all faults could be easily seen when having picture 3 times bigger than the figure is in reality.

Well the truth is, that I’m finding as very hard for my self to pay always perfect attention to every detail, if you doing a diorama with more then three figures.

Cheers
David

Terrain...

I’ve done a few pictures of finished terrain, so now it’s waiting only for all the different items like scattered ammunition and backpacks and certainly figures to be attached to.
I did use the common procedure for creating the terrain with “isolation foam” in the first layer, later cut to corresponding shape. Then modeling clay was used on the top.
Before the clay dries, different sizes of miniature stones were pressed in, especially at the place of future dirt road and cabbage field. Also the high grass was pressed into still wet clay surface.
Brown acrylic color wash was applied on the whole surface to get the uniform background for next application.
Different kinds of artificial grass together with dried flowers then finished the green part of terrain. Grass was airbrushed with several different tones of green acrylic color.
Pigments where used to finish the dirt road and field, cabbage was painted by normal acrylic colors (I’m using Vallejo colors). Two kepis (French army cap) were placed into the terrain, dusted by pigments…
More to follow...
Cheers
David
