Hi Folks

Been working on this piece for a while now on and off. Its part of a scene that I have been working on with 4 other mounted figures which I now have inspiration to get working on again.

Scale is 54mm

Its a French Dragoon Officer De La Garde who will be engaged in battle against the Austrian army of Wagram 1809. He is near complete but there are a few rough areas that need tidying up before his placement on the base and any paint is splashed around.

Made up of Magisculpt, milliput superfine white, some historex/Nemrod and a few Metal Models parts, paper clips and some fuse wire.

Still a long way to go with the rest of the project, any comments most welcome.

Tommi, Love the action pose(y) . And Historex with Metal Models and Nemrod no less. Wow, you are indeed pulling out all the stops. I am a big fan of French Cavalry from Napoleonic. French fighting Austrians will be indeed colorful! I look forward to seeing your vignette come to life! Thanks for Sharing,

All the Best, Terry Martin-Member of the Atlanta Miniature Figure Society

hi Tommi

really a great modelling job mixing and converting pieces...

let me give you a couple of historical suggestion....
your cannot be placed in 1805 because the helm that's the typical Guard Dragoon model. This helm has been used very rarely from line officer and never used by private

reenactor.jpeg

the holster shape are the typical for the guard dragoon again.

third point are the sword scabbard that has to be fixed vertically. The upper strap cannot be longer the 10/11 mm from the fixation point

Many thanks for your very valid points. The year should be 1809. I typed it wrong in the title. I will make all the necessary adjustments
Thanks for you help

Great! ! I am looking forward to see 4 other mounted figures. Historical figures have many single figures, so vignettes and dioramas are valuable. I wonder what kind of scene can be seen? I will wait patiently for your project progress.

Hi Kev

Thanks for your comments. The idea I have is based on a mixture of imagination and some photos from books and the internet. I am struggling with the historical accuracy of the figures which is slowing me down.

A lot of imagination there Tommi , Ivo is a amazing source of information as well .

Just realised ...that's a lot of legs ..both Hunan and animal!

Happy benchtime

A few of the Austrian guys I have working on some time. Still a long way to go. Lots to finish off but you get the general Idea.

Made up of a mixture of Metal Modesl, Historex/Nemrod parts along with some milliput, magisclpt, green stuff and lots of paper clips and fuse wire.

Hope to have these all complete the next few weeks and in their final position, lots to do.
