I always liked what you have done with this.
If you asked for something to improve who am'I to say something: I do: the drum is to clean. The place where the stick are going is to grey, and the surronding area is to white. I think it should be more yellowish.

The only thing I would do different if you were to redo the figure at some other time is make the ragged edge to the standard more elongated tears as it looks a little fringe like . BUT and this is a BIG BUT:) Leave the bloody thing alone,
I would be more than happy to take that to any competition .

I think you did a really fine job, and should leave well enough alone (y)! Perhaps solicit opinions and critique at the show and maybe incorporate what you learn on your next project :).

Many thanks joe,I'll take your comments on board.

I don´t understand very well the idea. do you paint all the figure like if he had pigment on his skin and cloth? or just use the same colour of the banner?
I like it a lot, only I miss more definittion on the piece.

Great and fantastic work. The devastation uniforms and flag is wonderfully done.

Seen it in the flesh and it looks good, sometimes judges overlook a certain style of painting? did it fair well at BMSS show in London mate?
that would a be good bench mark on your Painting! Brian as there where some lovely painting in the bust class, but do like the little additions to this bust you made, that alone makes it your own style!
