Here are some pics of the completed figure. As usual form The fusilier this figure was a pleasure to paint. if anyone else paints this and needs reference material on the shoulder boards just give me a shout
Here's a picture of the shoulder board depicting the 13 of the 13th Infantry regiment, not brilliant I know but the best I could do with shaky hands and dodgy eyesight .
Costas & Guy, thanks for the comments.
Next up on my bench will be Dave Ridley's Seaforth bust. It will be my first bust so we'll just have to see how it goes
It may be some time before it is started as I have a month away at sea with my work and then a summer holiday away when I return from sea.
This is a really nicely painted figure. The colours are enough weathered for realism.
Groundwork is the most common environment where the figure spend his active duty life.
Great work.
Nice one Roger, I know how difficult it is to do those apparently easy khaki uniforms. You done this figure justice, well done indeed. Try a few tots of rum before doing those numbers, they get easier........
Cheers fella's, it's suprising how many shades of khaki there is, even used by one nation. Aaaah, rum, that might be the answer. If not before the painting of the numbers definately after
Nice work Roger,
You can now try your khaki's on that brilliant Seaforth Highlander bust - just make sure you have the rum before you start
