Hi guys,

Finally finished this project after nearly a year! The title is: "THE LAST STAND - Alesia 52 BC." At Alesia, Vercingetorix (the central figure) and his Gallic forces were surrounded by the Romans under Julius Caesar. The Gauls were besieged and eventually beaten. Vercingetorix was taken captive and ultimately killed by the Romans six years later. These busts are produced by FeR miniatures. Painted with acrylics, with the exception of the bronze which was done with gold printers ink mixed with various brown and green oils to tone it down. Thanks for looking!

Sublime trio Jason!
Trust it was well received at Chicago & you did well with them.
Especially admire the precision & attention to detail on the tartan, particularly the red one.
Always pleasing to see authentic painting for all textures like animal pelts & especially metals. Still have personal preferences for these rather than artistic option.
What are you most happy with mate?

Amazing they really are a work of art, I am sure anyone looking at these will have their eyes darting about from texture to texture taking in the detail and wondering how did he manage to paint that, wonderful stuff.

I'm glad to see they survived the trip home!

You don't know what I went through brother! I saran wrapped the top of the standard then put the piece in a small tupperware container without the lid. I held that thing the entire drive home to cut down road vibration. Cradled it like a baby for 7 hours. My left arm still hurts!

Hard to say. Probably the plaid patterns or the faces. I'm pretty happy with both. Thanks again Mike!

You certainly should be happy the plaid patterns look great

Excellent pictures as well but I'm sure in reality it looks even better !
