After finishing off the embroidery, I applied a basecoat of SC Mojave white to the Breeches.

Thanks Guys, I appreciated your comments.

I've been so impressed with Colin's use of inks, I thought I'd try and go a bit further with them
and try and shade the breeches with them.
I used 3 different shades from the Army painter set. Soft, Strong and Dark.
Following this I picked the highlights with Mojave White, then added a top highlight with white.

That looks really good Malc. Could you explain how you used the inks - did you dilute them (eg with glaze medium) or use them straight from the bottle?

Hi Nigel,

I thinned them down distilled water, and built up the shades gradually.
It helps them dry to a matt finish too.
