German Camouflages book/mag by Andrea Press. The modeling Companion #1

Don't shoot me :sorry: , this is just my thoughts when I paid for this book I am sure some will disagree. There would have to be more in the next one, if they do another for me to buy it.

A thorough and good review as always.

But "German Camouflage" .....

Again.

It's a nice shiny book with lots of colourful pictures that would no doubt look cool on the bookcase or work bench. But ultimately the subject matter is nothing that hasn't been done 100 times before, and I'm seeing nothing here that would make me part with the folding. Unless maybe I stumbled across a copy at a bargain-bucket price.

I bought this sight unseen as I was looking for a faster way to paint camo. I was expecting a book/ magazine type as in the other Andrea how to's. Instead I got a pamphlet form. The quality is very good albeit small but would not have bought it if I seen it on a display.

Great review. I was wondering why it has not been hype up more and now from the review I see why. I would have been very mad had I ordered this expecting so much more than what it was,

Thanks
Todd

The info and pics are good but not enough of either for the price. The front cover is the best pic in the book and by far the largest.

MrBMB - thank you for review - I was waiting for some to see is it worth to buy this book!

When I noticed this release, I was wondering that price is rather high for 32 pages (comparing to Osprey manuals). Also, so many subjects on so little pages? Does not look like a detailed guide to me. I am planning to buy Andrea Waffen SS paint sets and it looks to me that Andrea took all SBS brochures from camo paint sets and released this a book. I will pass this one.

What is in the book isn't bad I guess when I saw the great front cover I had very high expectations of this book. I thought great here I'm going to see this guy on the front cover and others fully painted up from head to toe with a how to including ( maybe the face) equipment and all that. I know it doesn't say that anywhere but I was expecting something like that. I think in future they would be better doing the whole figure it's not like the painter doesn't know the colours. Anyway as I have said what's there is good but just not enough for the price. I also wouldn't say that there are lots of pictures and most are of the front profile only.

I normally don't hunt out something to not give a great review to, it's just when I got the book I was a little disappointed, a lot like their figure I reviewed. If your going to charge that price, try to make the product worth it. I've been around for awhile and I think I have a pretty good idea of a fair review

Hi Guys

Mr BMB has done a great job on the review and obviously all agree ..for me it's of no interest , personally I feel Andrea quality in their publications have gone down .

As he says a fair review
