Ok, let's try the pic thing again. Attached (hopefully) are close ups of the "silver" on the Orleans Cavalryman, An early application of the non metallic technique on a Hussar (Needs more highlight), a current project with only the first two layers applied and the 4 colors I use for gold. Any questions, feel free.

 Won't work, I'll ask Guy to load them if possible. <_<

Let's try these again.....

First the colors used for gold. Like I said, doesn't have to be these but I have found that they work.

Finally, A current project with only two layers of yellows applied. I think it is important to note that I've never tried this with oils since I think they would blend. Essentially what I am doing is building up layers of paint (not washes ala acrylic style). in smaller and smaller amounts as I reach the highest highlight.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Like I said in another posting, I use Lou's method of lace in both silver and gold. I like it better than my old way. I have a Barton 90mm Baron Von Zieten that Lou helped me with the reference with and the gold lace has been done with this method. My hat is off to you Lou
