Hi All,

Ive just finished this piece, working on it for several months.

A scene from the Franco-Prussian War. Hope you all like it.

Hi Victor

Good to see what you’ve been up to at the bench

A amazing piece of modelling and so so close to the painting

Love all the detail work you’ve done , fine presentation not only on figures but also the backdrop

Out of interest what’s the donor figures you’ve used ?

Inspiring work

Don’t forget our Competitions as well if you wish

Thanks for sharing

Looking forward to seeing more

Hi Kevin,

I use anything I can get my hands on. I have a large spares hoard from a misspent youth. So the usual historex, masterbox tamiya etc. I used to hate the scale and size discrepancies between the different makes but have learnt to embrace them for my dioramas. The pickelhaubes are from scalelink, most of the French Kepis and backpacks from masterbox and airfix, lots of airfix Ho/OO figs for the bkgd.

Dear Victor, so, except for the figures in the "far" background, the figures in and around the cemetery itself are 1/35? Did you use Milliput to convert the basic figure? I particularly like the group of Prussians on the left, the spiked helmet look like the early Pattern 1867.

Hi George,

I use all my figs as armatures and happily mix them up. I use a lot of putty to shape all my figs. Generally, I stretch out the figs in the foreground and compress those in the bkgd. The commercial heads also come in various sizes so y can use the larger ones in front and the smaller ones in the bkgd.

Hi All,

Thanks for your kind interests in this piece. I was looking at the main pix and when I tried to zoom in, I realised that the details were fuzzy. Knowing how anal retentive we modellers can be [hahahha], Ive decided to take close-up shots to show you that my figures have feet of clay....more mirth..

Enjoy!
