Still early days on this. I'm going to convert the dog so that it's peeing up the bollard.:D

Hi Carl,

Since it is still early days as you said, I might as well take the liberty and say what I feel like:

1. The green of the uniform is stunning. I wish I could paint green like that. But the shading on the boots...

2. This dog is full of potential. A very very clever move of yours. Eager to see more warm colours splashed onto it.

The fun you must have painting a JMD figure!

Will follow closely.

Thanks foe taking the time to comment Michael. The green is Vallejo 830 German field grey with highs of 819 Iraq sand. The boots well, I was hoping to replicate the box art by Jean-Noël Coutois.

Hi Carl,

Vallejo! I should have figured. Their colours and hand painting quality are matchless. I will have stuck by them for three full years comes this June. Of course I am slowly moving towards Andreas range... Thanks for the tip on combination!

I do like the boots in the box art. And I do get that you are replicating that. Maybe a matter of different finishes? The sense of depth from the box art is very natural.

I am sure this will turn out great!

Hey Carl, this is gonna look very cool!

The combination of figure pose and dog-behaving-badly is very well chosen.

As a suggestion: You can use some appropriately bent clear stretched sprue for replicating the...ehm...how shall I say....liquid flowing from the dog. Fix it with transparant-drying acrylic paste. And why not splash some Tamiya clear yellow over it to finish it off. I did something like this to emulate slime dripping from my T-Rex model (see my vBench).

Looking forward to the end result!

Cheers,
Adrian

Adrian are you taking the p**s?:D
Yes urine is planned.
Carl.

Great job on painting the figure mate and your approach to the groundwork is looking very good so far, nice piece of wall and railing section.

I like the idea of adding the dog to give the figure something to focus on.

Hi Carl!!
Very good painting.
Always has the gift offers incredible performances on your figures.
A dry brush in shades of gray-white in the street and the sidewalk when finished.

Why not do it in oils over acrylics Carl and include some brush strokes. I think that greatly helps to give the impression of hair. The oils also dry with an attractive fur-like sheen.

Good luck with the next step!

Cheers,
Adrian
