For a first one, I really need a bust though, to get larger surfaces to work on. I'm not too fond of doing busts, but this is a great excuse to start one.

Quang: mmm, a Van Gogh, painted in his later style would be wonderfull! He painted some nice self-portraits to use as inspiration too...

I'm knocked out. What a terrific idea and an inspiring realization of probably Picasso's best known piece! What about the Blue Nude? That could also be sculpted and could really be beautiful!

The pointillist (French impressionist) idea is also great! Specific subject suggestion - How about one of Van Gogh's south pacific island women?

..."the work of the German expressionists inspiring and now I'm imaging a scene by Georg Grosz or Max Beckman reproduced in this style" Especially Grosz - a great idea and I can visualize several figures in his work that could be converted to sculpture.
