Uhu?
Not sure if it makes sense to make an half bust mini diorama, anyway I did it.

There are two different versions, this is the first setting

and the second (not finished yet), the hand you see is just a sketch

and this is the half bust, well a big head to be honest, based on a 2D artwork of Joe Madureira, it still needs a lot of adjustments

Luca, you know, that you are creating a new"Artform"? Your work looks more and more amazing as more as you are doing!

This Hulk Bust/Base/Diorama will look amazing and refreshing when finished!

Great work!

Both very interesting. The treatment of the type in the Legos (?) is very nice. I can't wait to see both. The Hulk does begin to look just a tiny bit "ape-like" at this stage, looking forward to seeing him come together!

Thanks to all for looking and for the kind words.

Yes Jay, he has sort of gorilla look. What I most liked of the original 2D artwork was just that strong and brutal look. This is the original drawing

and this a shot I took at a very early stage

As you can see, it is not a matter of perspective, also on the original drawing he has a very deformed head and back (shoulder). I enlarged a bit the ears and inclined some more the upper lip. He still needs a lot of work on the eyebrow to get the right expression. The main issue I foresee is about hair, very few and sparse, but giving so much to the whole look.

I love Lego ;)

The half bust is now finished

When done with the second setting I will post some more shots. Embedded into this page you can see a QT movie with a short animation of the bust mounted on the first setting (not so heavy, less than 1MB).

Luca,
VERY nicely done! The wrinkles around the eyes and forehead are perfect! Be sure to post up pics of this guy on his base, and when he getes some paint.

Locked up door trouble...? He will solve it, through the wall...

hope to post a shot of the casted version soon.

Luca,
beautifully casted as usual! I can't wait to see these beauties with paint on 'em! You know... I thought I would like the one crashing through the wall the most, but now that I see them, there is something to be said about seeing him alone on the small pedestal. Don't get me wrong, they are all outstanding, there is just something about his isolation on the simple small pedestal that really makes his anger and presence stand out! Very cool stuff!

Ciao Luca,
veramente forte.
Grazie

Saluti

maui :)

Jay, to be honest the XS version with that pedestal looks a bit weird also to me, but seeing the bust in the flesh mounted on it has exactly the effect you pointed out, standing out the character. I did it thinking in a painted rendition like the Madureira artwork. I got an idea about how standing out even more that head, let see if it will work...

Stephan, yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhha ;)
