Hi guys,

Haven't posted much progress recently, but will try to catch up a bit.

Here's a nice little figure from Verlinden that I found on the web for a
couple of euros. I haven't painted a face in 1/35 in ages, and looked
forward to tackle one with my new Series 7 brushes. To push them to
their limits!

There's not much to build with this figure; just an arm and head to attach,
with the body and base being one casting. Painting should be done
separately however, otherwise it'll be difficult to reach everywhere.

Pics so far show just the face, with some final touches still to be done (5
o'clock shadow, etc.). I am actually almost finished with the figure and
hope to be able to post the end result soon.

The overview picture shows the figure and base, but just in base colours.
I am working from a black base this time.

Hope you like the face so far.

Cheers,
Adrian

Great start Adrian.
Indeed facial painting is wonderful.
A smooth gradation.
I'd like to follow.

Mitsutaka.

Thanks a lot for your nice comments gents. Much appreciated.

Pedro, it was painted in acrylics. I used Andrea's flesh paint mix, with some personal modifications.

Cheers,
Adrian

Thanks Alexandros.
The credits for the groundwork go to the original sculptor however! The figure and base (minus arms and head) are a one piece casting. Verlinden sure had its casting quality in order; this is an old kit, but quality is very high.

I did add some of my own things to the base in the mean time, but I'll show that in my next update. Didn't get around to making new pics yet...

Cheers,
Adrian

Just got off my chair, picked up the camera and shot some in progress shots. As you can see, I'm almost done. Bit of a funny work order: paint first, assemble later.

Now back to the brushes...

Thanks Carl.

Here's my mixes (Vallejo/Modelcolour):

Base: 893+896 (1:1)
Highlights: Base+821 & Base+986
Shadows: Base+965 & Base+black 950

I used 893+821 for the tan coloured pouches
and 896+986 (1:1) as base colour for the helmet cover, highlighted with more 986.

Cheers,
Adrian

@Carl: you're most welcome.

@Marcel: Thanks for your nice comment. I'm almost done and hope to make the final update soon. Busy now with the last details and waiting for my 101st emblem decal to come in the mail. I figured this was way too small for me to paint...!

Cheers,
Adrian
