Hello Friends,
I have just come to the PlanetFigure site hoping to enjoy what is just about the only platform left on which to see current work, WIPs, to keep up to date with events (as infrequent and small as they now are) and to post some of my own work.
I am dismayed at being so hampered from doing so by ads popping up at every turn, whether in forums or going to the various categories to view work. I can’t even see what is going on in some areas as the cover-over of so much garbage being peddled completely reduces the usability of the site to something I just don’t wish to wade through.
Is there a way round this for any of you regulars that I don’t know?
I don’t want to have to pay for ad removing apps or software just so I can use this site.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards to you all,
Chris Tasker.

Becoming a pF supporter ($15 annual donation) removes all the ads.

This is the only way to remove them, I believe.

At the end the cost of running the website needs to be paid somehow. It is advertising or a small yearly fee. We are hosting gigabytes of high resolution images and this doesn't come for free.

Hi Chris.
I hope you continue to post here, despite the pain of having adds pop up.
Your work would be most appreciated here, as you produce some amazing models.
Can't remember the last time we met, must be some years ago now.

If you are not logged in and browsing the site as a guest you will see lots of advertising. The amount of ads decreases once you log in, and it is removed completely for PF supporters. Once you are a member you should not see popups or other ads you describe as blocking content.

I think it also depends on what browser you use.

I'm not a paying "Supporter" but I find that when I log in on my desktop PC via Firefox I see no ads at all. Different story when I log in via Google Chrome though, and also on my iPhone.

On the latter I see quite a few ads for "Ukrainian wives" for some reason  . Worries me that if the Mrs happens to glance over and see that, she might think I'm considering trading her in .

I to use Firefox on my PC, and get no pop-up ads. On the phone, a few, but not to bad.

Mind you, the ads on the page can be a bit... eye opening...

Steve and Henk are correct-the platform and application you use-PC/laptop vs mobile device, Windows vs iOS vs Android, etc, will impact what you see.

I'm on a laptop running Windows 10, using Chrome and Firefox to browse, and the spam filters and ad blockers built in to the browsers filter out all ads for me. Add to that, that during the day, I'm logged in to my company's network and behind our firewall, and that filters even more spam and ads out. But even from my home network, it's practically nil.

I don't bother much with accessing via my phone (Android operating system, Samsung Galaxy A10e) because the screen is just too small for me to enjoy looking at photos of peoples' work.

Prost!
Brad

Ads anywhere annoy me. Here, it's a matter of seeing the content we want or seeing less or not at all. I'm willing to be one second annoyed in order to have thirty minutes enjoying what I came here for. Hope you can get past it, as there are real talents here and great inspiration.

Thank you ALL.
I have subscribed, looks like you’re stuck with me!
