Almost finished, still got to do the base that I started before the figure and promptly forgot all about!

Anyway here he is with his rifle, as I am prone to missing things, like his trouser stripes, please let me know so I can sort it.

I tried to get away from the red and blue colour scheme that has clothed quite a few figures recently, didn't quite manage it with this, though it is reversed I suppose a change is as good as a rest!

Cheers Simon

You are quite skilled at these reds Mate,
The figure looks fantastic and it is an Impressive uniform.
Have you thought about makimg some aeas of the troussers a little bit more worn out by adding some blue grey with a hint of violet?, if not , I will leave it like that.
All depends on what scenery ypu are placing the figure at I guess.

It's really nice, and the tones look great.
An interesting subject, too. Quite inspiring, should any Gt War equivalents become available.

Catching up, you have done a great job on him. I can just manage to sculpt a few details or a little bit of remidial work in 1/16 scale, I couldn't in that kind of scale. Good work on the Red and Blues, not easy to work with.

Cheers Daniel, there isn't really any great amount of fading in the trousers I know and his base is just a dusty patch of ground. I haven't even put dust on his boots, I know it isn't terribly realistic but I prefer my figures parade ground clean most of the time, just a little quirk but hey I make them so I can!

Cheers David, there ought to be more figures covering not just the Indian Army but other Commonwealth countries considering how many fought in both World Wars.

By the way how are you faring now, hoping the concussion issues are done with. Had plenty in my time but just kept playing (rugby) not really knowing how I got there! Never had long lasting problems though, well I don't think so.

Cheers Henk, I'm the other way around, couldn't contemplate doing something that big, it would scare me to death. 75mm is the biggest I have ever gone and I'm not that keen on that size, the sculpting is from long and not very successful years of practice, but I'm a stubborn Yorkshire man so I persisted and now I'm happy with what I produce.

One point, I asked if anyone saw something I missed, well so far everybody else missed the missing bayonet! Only realised when I found it in the bits tub I used for him, I'm getting worse. I can paint one side and when I turn him around I forget which side of the figure I was working on, so looks like an early old folks home for me!

Hi Simon
I'm getting there, thanks.
It's a long-winded palaver, and very trying, but I've had a couple of beers tonight and seem OK.
What was your rugby position?

Good to hear you're on the mend. I played a little on the wings when I started but ended in the second row and then stuck to loose head prop which I really enjoyed. That all ended back in the mid 90's with prolapsed discs mores the pity!

Hi Simon

Nice painting update on this Figure , nicely worked , liking the yellow and the medal ......and colourful as well ......not sure what you’ve planned for basework but I’d keep it simple and not detract from the Figure

This is nearly finished ....apart from bayonet missing ....yes I missed it ..just read ahead on posts !!

Look forward to seeing pics in Completed forum and seeing what you have got planned for the next subject

Happy benchtime

Cheers Kev, it turned out to be a little more involved than a missing bayonet. It seems I not only forgot to paint it I also forgot to make sure there was a place for it as I built the figure! So a little bit of drilling and digging out a channel in the trousers so it wasn't sticking out at an odd angle. So some putty repair and some repainting, should be able to finish it off tomorrow. The base is simple, all my bases are, not really into anything fancy it takes too much time!

Next two projects will go up when I post in the completed section, one will be a slow project involving horses and the other will be another foot figure.

Cheers Simon

OK so this little fella is finished, got the bayonet sorted and all repaired where I had some excavation with a drill and a scalpel.

Photos over on the completed forum shortly.
