I saw the Houser monument in pieces at the Shidoni foundry in Santa Fe a while back. The horse's head was lying on the main square in Santa Fe for at least 2 years.

Story I heard was that he was originally commissioned to sculpt 12 different bronzes. He went ahead and did the Onate piece way bigger than originally agreed and was almost 10 years late. Not sure of the fate of the other commissions. You gotta admire the sales job he did.

Interesting article here:

There were charges of racism, oppression of natives, white triumphalism, etc.
Sculpting ain't for sissies.

Greetings my friends and colleagues - thanks for your participation and comments.
Dénes - the more I mould, the I see mistakes on the models of a horse more, it is confident that idea of the book very much early. I hope for progress in modelling and knowledge together with you of the colleague.
Thanks for references - this history with a monument very unexpected. But I admire with him{it}, and the sculptor! I had earlier confidence that similar cases are possible{probable} in Russia - there are also other countries have feature to resist to art - I regret also hope for change of the attitude{relation} of officials.
Thanks Ken for the additional information!
Also I saw some projects for Oklahoma - a van to harness and the horseman together and full-scale (1:1)-! There is an information on the project of immigrants?
Thanks again, on following weeks allow to continue a theme "head - neck".
Yours faithfully, I do not say goodbye....
