Muy Bonito!
This is a very good pictorial. It really shows the application of all of the individual shapes and muscle forms to the head very well. This is a really good primer for learning sculptors. It is certainly more well thought out than my "organic" (read messy, intuitive and unplanned) technique.
However, notice toward the end where the face suddenly transforms from a mechanical rendering of basic facial form, to a realistic portrait of a person! That is really awesome. But it is only a true artist that can make this transformation. It is literally breathing life into a wooden mannikin.
This shows that the difference between a journeyman and a master sculptor is the ability to go that last 10% of the way. This is something that can be demonstrated but not so easily taught. It is always great to see how a master does it though........
