Firstly, just say that I really do enjoy reading your 'balanced approach' to personal life and modelling figures....a real inspiration to many of us here on pF. Thinking of you and all the best this week and the next.
Secondly, this is coming along so well. And again, I like the way that you tell us what's gone the way you expected, but also what went wrong and how [and sometimes why]. All of this is so beneficial to us 'newbies'.

Cheers Kim, not sure I'm much of a shining example, just a straight talking Yorkshire bloke without inhibitions.
Been at the hospital for my pre op for 3 hours now, interrogated, blood tests, an ECG and now an hours wait to see the anesthetist. Don't remember pre ops being this detailed before, usually it was just to check the patient was still alive!

Yep, had the same last Friday, getting ready for my next Op. at beginning of April....the nurse couldn't find a place that would give any blood ....four attempts!! She found it finally! Agree, the information sheets were even more and most was the same info. from the last four operations since January 2022. Good job we've got figure modelling, choral singing [me] and the odd drink! Maybe that was the problem, should have had a larger drink!!

Sorry to hear about your eye issues Simon. I too have had a few eye issues over the years. Hang in there . You will get through it. You have too many figures yet to paint!

Well that went well, not now having the op on 16 Apr as they want me to go to my local hospital rather than one 30 miles away for some reason. So I'm back to waiting for a date again, such is life. Worst part is I'm not allowed to vape for 24hrs prior to the op, yeah like that's going to happen! That larger drink sounds like a good idea.

That made me laugh, yeah I have too many figures to paint, also got more to make before they get to that stage. Been having the eye injections for a few years now, really unpleasant but better than losing the sight. It'll all come out in the wash mate but thanks for the kind words.

Yeah I found that out, used to be a quick weight, height and blood pressure a couple of leaflets and off you go. I brought a flipping library home with me when I finally escaped.
To be fair I'm not that bothered by the delay, I really don't want the op but know I need it. It's not going to have a huge positive impact on me as I was already a cripple before the hip went. Just another hoop to jump through on the journey into old age, it's all kind of amusing anyway.

I just let it all flow over and around me these days, everyone else is stressing enough I don't need to add any. I'll be out the door at the first opportunity to vape, allowed to or not. Mind you I'll have to wait till the spinal block wears off or I'll be falling flat on my face, which would be amusing.Wotcha Simon
