Hi, My name is Billy and I live in the north of the Isle of Man, in a village called Ballaugh. If you're into bike racing then it maybe familiar to you from the TT races. I had been painting figures for many years, been a member of the BMSS and the British Flat Figure Society albeit some years ago. However I had gone off the boil and have not painted anything for a few years. Got divorced 4 years ago and decided to revive my interest in model making and figure painting . It's really amazing how the quality of casting has progressed with resin. Don't suppose there is much done in white metal these days. There is some brilliant stuff on here and I'm looking forward to being part of the community.

Best regards to everybody.

Welcome to PF Billy. And yes I Love watching TT of course they don't show the complete race. I would love to go to IoM to get the fully experience. Anyway Welcome aboard and start posting your work.

Hello Billy! Welcome to PF! I've been to the IOM 9 times since '97. I usually go back every 2 years or so and stay in Peel when I'm there. It's like going to my second home. Our family comes from a farm just outside of KirkMichael on the Peel road so I'm very familiar with the island and the north and west areas. Too bad I didn't know you where in the hobby while I was there last as I would have looked you up.
Best wishes,
Gary Daugherty

Thank you all for the great comments.

Nap - well I'd been watching the 'Vikings' Tv serial and stumbled across Claydreams 'Shipbuilder' bust ... although ordered in December is proving to be a bit elusive and Claydreams aren't replying to emails it appears at the mo for whatever reason. Just got the Darkstar 'Ratcatcher' and on a whim got their 'Revolutionist' bust, a really nice casting. I've got in a drawer somewhere, two of Postemilitaire's Native Americans, deemed too difficult to do at the time:unsure:. Quite a few flats as well. Oh forgetting to mention umpteen 54mm figures. Anybody remember New Hope Design. They were producing figures here on the Island for a while, based on the Osprey Men at Arms series.

Best wishes all .....
