Hi!
Lately when I finish a painting session I get a slight headache due to the effort of my eyes. I went to the doctor and all is well with them. He advised me to buy better lenses, and since that, I've been looking for one, and now, I ask your help. I saw these two on ebay, wich is better in your opinion? or are something better?
I dont need for busts, only for 1:35 or 54mm figures.

Thanks in advance.
Pedro

Hi Pedro, I think that's a matter of opinion or what works for you.
I purchased mine about two years ago on eBay, one with 4 different glaces.
I did'nt pay a lot for it, but it works fine for me, there is also a light on top of it, but that I never uses.
On eBay right now, just copy the link:

Pedro, I was in this same situation some time ago and posted a similar request.
I got lots of good advice of course but what I eventually did was I asked my optometrist to prescribe a pair of glasses for close up work. I told him how close up I'd be working and gave him an idea of what was needed and the degree of detail I'd be working on. He tested my eyes of course and prescribed a pair of glasses for close up work only and they're half sized lenses so I can look over them when mixing paint etc.
It works great for me and the glasses are made to suit your own eyes which are never both the same of course.
That could be a reason you're getting headaches as well.
Another idea to consider anyway.

Pedro,
I use the Optivisor brand and they are adjustable and comfy. The lens is a #5 and it does me real well for 54mm/1/35th figures. I use them over my reading glasses and they work fine. Sometimes using them takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hand of it you will love them.
You will find they are a great help.
Cheers
John

Hi Pedro. I have and highly recommend the Donegan optivisor (the bluish one you've posted). Mine is either the #5 or #7, cannot remember which.

I bought mine at a opticien. The lenses are glass and correct for color, and are 5 diop.
After a good set of brushes this whas the best buy I did.
It cost me € 34,-.

I use a cheap Chinese Optivisor knockoff (looks like your second image), which I got for 10 bucks at the vendor mart at Historicon several years ago. But I agree with those who advise you to check with your eye doctor, too, especially since you have an eye doctor. I don't wear glasses (though this may be the year I break down and get them), but I needed magnification for close-up detail work.

Prost!
