Coming along nicely Brian. I like the subdued brickish red. When you started off I thought you were going too far toward the bright scarlet but I should have known better.

Thanks Colin,i always start off with fresh colours which may look to bright but I work in the colours through different stages (y)

Hi mate
Awesome mate love the worn weatherd painting indicative of what the Infantary solider looks like when fighting during any period a true interpretation of of the fighting soldier , all to often figures are produced to clinical and look like they are off the parade ground
My dad who served in Normandy / Holland Germany at one point had German parachute scarf cut off German flying boots and a Walher p38 and and an Mp40 regulation no effective yes , in the Ardennes he wore a reversible German smock white side out
Great work mate
Chris

Hi chris, its not everyones thing I know, but I love to portray my subjects with a campaign battle look to them, its just something I like to do with my busts and figures, the results I get really please me and a lot of members on planet seem to like it as well,so that's a bonus (y)

some more progress made today,i can now see the light at the end of the tunnel, need another session on the knapsack and waterbottle plus straps, couple of sessions on the cuffs and lace, need to finish the buckles and buttons, these can all be sorted in the next couple of sessions before its complete o_O

I love the color of the oil skin cover on the head gear , it looks like his mouth is dry great effect on his lips , I think Jimbo was telling me once that the one side of there faces became quite blackened from the discharge of the musket going to give my guardsman a bit of a filter
Cheers Chris
