Thank you Dim, you make me blush. This was a joint project with forum member Dan Morton. See his vbench fior how it was constucted. I did the easy bit by painting it and adding the snow and ice.

You know, malice maybe, what I think it adds to the piece is life. It does a perfect job of drawing the viewer to the face of the figure and thus his ultimate plight. It seems to add that perfect touch of interest to the piece. Very nice! Thanks a bunch Roger! MUCH appreciated.

Dan, Jay yes the crow definately adds something. I purposely didn't include anything else on the groundwork because I think it would have taken something away from the feel of the piece.

Whatever the viewer attributes to the bird is I guess in their brain...but it does focus the viewer's eyes nicely - I certainly agree with that.
