Hi!

Found this site a while ago but didint discover the forums and the wealth of info that is to be collected here until recently. Which made it a good idea to join.

Ive been building models for as far back as I can remember. I do anything that appeals to me but I specially like figures above anything else. All periods except Modern and Napoleon. I specialize on Vikings and other related medievil beings. As well as WWII. Other things I like to do is WWI biplanes, 50s-cars and Star Wars.

Im trying to sculpt but progress is very slow but steady. At this time nothing more than mere converision. This as I believe I have so many good ideas for scenes, vingettes and dioramas and thus needing the figures with the right poses and expressions. Ive seen Gordys articles and post on Armorama as well as MedRom Forum and those have really taught me a lot not to mention the inspiration.

So now it seems youre stuck with me.

Hello

You've made a good choice here, IMHO, especially if you want inspiration & motivation for sculpting your own figures!
Before I found this site, I never thought my sculpting would go beyond the odd replacement arm or two, but, thanks to the encouragement & help from the guys on here I'm well on the way to finishing my first totally scratch-built figure! (Hurrah )
so if I can do it, anybody can!!!!!!!

Simon

BTW, what do we call you? I suspect you're not really a genitically modified Half Orc! ;) ........but then again...........

Welcome, This is a great site with quite active participation. There are a lot of good people here that not only offer encouragement but valuable tips to make difficult things a bit easier to accomplish. Enjoy yourself.~Gary

Armour is like the IRA. Once in, never out!

As a matter of fact I have to admit that the Hellcat on the picture actually isnt finished yet. It have been put on hold for a while. But I hope to have it finished before the next year starts. I got a little stuck with the figures as I want to have a crew in it.

As a kid I did everything except single figures. Figures where only in diorams except for the Auroa horror series that populated my room. But when I got back my six first projects where single figures.

Speaking of Auroa. One of my favourite models where the Gilliotine. And I was not alone. Ive heard stories of replacing the blade with a razor or a knifeblade. I did put weights in mine but the most horrorsure Ive heard where a guy who filled the hollow body of the figure with red paint to let it spill out when decapitated. However I took the chance the relive my childhood when Polar Light reissued this kit, this time with a more serious attitude.

Building Armor is a lot like the infamous "Hotel California' you can check out any time you like but you can never leave. Good looking T-rex and the Mummy is first rate.
