Hello guys, I recently purchased a Cameron Highlander from a fellow Planeteer (top bloke).
Anyway, I was wondering if a 79th Cameron Highlander and simply be painted up as a 42nd Black Watch?
I'd be grateful for any advice anyone can offer.

Roger's correct, the lace is different. I did the opposite conversion on the Airfix collectors series 'Black Watch'; scraped all the lace and buttons off and replaced it with plastic strip and stretched sprue. I'm not sure if the rosette badge at the base of the hackle is different too; I'll check my references when I get home.

Thanks guys, the figure is from the Egyptian campaign in 1882 if that makes any difference.
I appreciate any assistance.

Ah, well that's a bit different and out of my normal era. I would guess the only differences would be the regimental badges on the collar and shoulder tabs and maybe the sporran.
I'll still see if I can dig up anything more concrete.

I think they may have had a regimental badge on the side of their pith helmet with a backing of tartan behind it.

As always, thanks fellas, I knew you'd come up with the goods.
Basically, the bumpf that comes with it suggests the words 'Camerons' on each shoulder's epaulette. I don't relish the prospect of painting this.. Is there any way round it?
