Hi everyone
Saw this diorama on FB , got permission from the modeller to share .....more legs than I have ever seen ....lol ...but great figure modelling and groundwork so great to share and appreciate the work
Steves write up :
Set during the German spring offensive of 1918,Men of the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry desperately holding on to a section of the disintegrating front line.
The majority of the figures (10) are from the excellent Tommy’s War brand either built straight from the box or slightly altered to fit the scene.
The biggest challenge was trying to incorporate the vickers gun crew into the scene as this is sold as a stand alone vignette.
Five figures are white metal offerings from Andrea Miniatures again either straight from the box or slightly altered and the German corpse was heavily modified from parts of Airfix multipose WW2 German Infantry.
Sand bags were made from milliput and the groundwork was made by mixing polyfilla with sand, small debris and various shades of brown acrylic paint.
The barbed wire is a really impressive product from RMG models, corrugated iron sheets from reality in scale, the British cadaver in the shell hole is actually a zombie figure with added helmet.
All other accessories came from the scrap box.
All in all this diorama took me way longer than I expected and was difficult in parts but I’m quite pleased with the end result.
Hope you like it guys and constructive criticism is always welcome
