Horse clipping

Hello all.
I have only just started to paint the SK Miniatures cuirassier with horse bust. It's a big kit and the horse is no exception, so I think it may need a different painting style to do it justice.

This is my quandry. When using photos and images to help painting the horse most of the pictures on google are of modern clipped horses, so when painting a horse this size does anyone now of any tutorials to show how to paint "hairy" horses because I don't think that napoleonic horses would have looked as clean shaven as the ones we use as reference material.

Plenty of nice hairy horses 'round by me Dom. If you need some piccies for reference I'll trot along with my camera (No pun intended)
Good question though, because I've seen some right dodgy pony/horse haircuts that make a fabulous creature look like a poodle (nothing personal against poodles, but you know what I mean)

Glad my hair doesn't grow that quickly. It was info really on how to give the impression of longer hair or if anyone had any techniques on possibly painting individual hairs...........dom

Thanks very much for the link Luis. It seems a very time consuming thing to do but the end result is very good.
The only problem is that I have already laid down the base coat and removed with excess to form main highlights and shadows so i think I may have to go down the route of individual hairs. The things we have to go through in the name of art,!!!!.....dom
