Welcome to planetFigure :)

Good news: there are some still in current circulation from a variety of manufacturers..
if someone doesn't beat me to a list, i'll get one together shortly ;)

I do 1/48th Napoleonics from scratch (see my gallery). I think my faces are acceptable but not up to pro standards.

To sculpt a head, I just get a piece of sculpey a little smaller than the head size I want to end with and sculpt the face with tooth picks and a #11 Xacto blade. The pressure of sculpting will enlarge the face to 1/48 scale. I build the back of the head and add ears and hair after the face is baked hard.

I could show you how I do one in a sequence of digital photos scanned into this thread if that would help - perhaps tonight or this weekend? Wouldn't take long

OK - consider me a volunteer. I'll have a look at the existing articles for format and then start work.

to make your life easier :)
any format is fine.

I have even recieved emailed numbered images 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg and then the text in the body of the email with the corresponding numbers, that's the easiest for you and for me.

I have the resources to compile it into a format consistant with planetFigures' layout.

Gordy - do you think an article on sculpting 1/48th heads or one on a whole 1/48th figure would be preferred?

Also, what is the best size and resolution for any submitted .jpg's (I don't want to take them too detailed and then lose all the detail if you have to compress them).

whichever you prefer, Colin full or not... or a two parter head then the rest... send the images as you like i'll do the magic and send them back optimized for proofing...

I am eager to see your masterpiece article, colin...for me...i also prefer the whole 1/48 figure.....hope this won't bring you too much trouble.
