Hi all

One of the best (if not the best) modelled figures in 28mm I've had the pleasure to paint. The figure is modelled by Tom Meier (Thunderbolt Miniatures) and it's proportions are much more realistic than the average 28mm figure.
There are another 7 figures in the range and I hope to paint them time permitting.

Hope you like it.
(as you will see in the last picture mi coin painting technique is getting better :)

From earlier postings, Tom sculpted these in 1/48th scale, rather than 28mm size.

Outstanding painting, regardless of scale or size! Well done, and here's a vote to see the others done, as well!

Thanks for watching and comments Guys.

"Tom sculpted these in 1/48th scale, rather than 28mm size"

..well I suppose that is correct. But if you compare this(or these range figures next to some Perry or Victrix, they are all equally tall. So then maybe nor Perry or Victrix are 28mm. ????
I'll try to take a comparison picture of these FIW figures next to Perry or Victrix plastic figures, so you can have an idea of the size/scale..

Angel, I'm not disputing what you say about the sizes of Meier and Perry figures.

There have been several threads this year about the "scale vs size" issue. Most of the comments referred to 54mm "size" ("big" 54s vs "small" 54s, etc.), which as you probably know is the same discussion that goes on referring to 28mm figures (or 15mm vs 18mm, etc.).

I was merely pointing out that these figures were reportedly made to 1/48th scale. In theory, all the muskets should scale out to be accurate 1/48th miniatures of the real items, and we ought to be able to determine the height of each man in the same fashion. The Perrys obviously use some "scale" when sculpting their figures, as do their friends when they produce guns and wagons - I've never read just what scale it is, that's all. The limitations of metal and hard plastic molding, as opposed to resin, will also result in some differences in thickness of body parts, etc. Some folks will be interested in this info, and admittedly some will not.

None of which takes anything away from your masterful rendition of this figure! Thanks again for sharing your pictures with us.

Superb paintwork for such a smale scale!
In 54mm this would already be a very good paintjob.

regards,
Marcel.

Thanks for the encouraging comments guys.

I will be painting some other figures of this range so I'll keep ypu updated.

I thought i was looking at a well painted 54mm figure so when I see it is only 1/48 it is even more impressive, great paint job on the flesh.
