hi Friend

I recently started a project for a private collection, it's a project that will be developed during the years.

The aim is to have a collection of colonel of the hussard during the revolutionary, consular and Imperial period.

the first done is a portrait of colonel Barbier , 2nd hussars during the consular period.
The figure is based on a selfèprtrait painted representing him and some of his officer

Thanks for the kind comments, some note to clarify my procedure making these portraits…

First of all, I research, a lo t in order to find as many documents as possible. Better documents are the oldest, contemporary sketch, painting, portraits are much better than modern documents that frequently aren’t so accurate
Barbier did his portrait that has some specific characteristic…

- a small panther skin without any silver lace
- a red leather harness bossed in silver
- an huge shako with leaves and rings

all these characteristics were transferred on the figure

technically my figure are based on Metal Modeles parts and some scratch when necessary. Horses can also be from Eisembach range ( less detailed as metal modeles but with a good quality)

Great looking figure as always. I am working on a 2nd Hussar at present and I am casting about for help with the dolman and pelisse. I have one blend already. What colours did you use for the pelisse and dolman?
