Ok this figure is in the very first stages of getting the pose right. The figure will be holding a gun and be in a firing stance but I wanted have a little twist to the upper body as if he is trying to shoot some one moving past him. It does not look quite right to me. I am using a friulmodel 54mm mannequin and I can only play with it so much before it starts to break. One note my camera did not seem to like this figure it just did not seem able to focus on it so the photos are a little soft. Also the figure does stand more or less straight but in the photo it looks a like it is leaning back a little.

Hi Jeff!

I think this depends a bit whether you want balance in your pose or not.
To be balanced Id suggest you lean the torso a bit forward.

However if it gonna be in a moving pose the unbalance would work.

Cheers

Hi Jeff!

I would turn wrist of the gun holding arm. At least to me it would be more natural.

Cheers Mikko

Mikko,

Actually the whole hand will be going so it will be turned. Just a little more info on the figure. Just think of it as a western figure in a gun fight. He will be wearing a long coat which I hope will add a sense of motion to the figure. I do not want to tell to much about him just yet. I am hoping that people will be able to tell who it is supposed to be when it is a little more finished.

I am not quite sure what I will be doing with the gun arm when I am really trying to aim a gun accurately I usually hold my arm pretty straight. But I do see the merits of a little bend in the arm. I will have to see what works best I may have to wait untill I get the gun in his hand and see what works best.
