Jean Paul

we could theme the figure choices if this becomes a regular thing, anyway does'nt the fact that everybody is doing the same figure make you want to paint the figure slightly differently, change the colour, heraldry or regiment etc.

I hope the final voted figure does'nt put you of participating, I know the figure choice wont please everybody but there is always next time.

Cheers Steve Walks

Any figure chosen I'm in for sure :)

But I have already participated to similar projects.

One with Baron Lejeune (napoleonian), Montgomery (WWII), Latorre's hobbit (fantasy) and Soult (napoleonian).
The last 2 are still on wip for soon.

What I can say is that on the Lejeune and Montgomery the only difference was skill painting.
And that's exactelly what we dont want here. We want to see everyone's imagination.

For exemple any barbarian/celtic will be good for clothes and tatoos variety.
Any american indian will be also good for warpaint and tatoos.

But anyway I'm sure we'll do lots all around the years coming :)
So we'll have more experience after few samples painted ;)

Hello Jean Paul,

I think you should let your imagination work harder. Remember Marijns Creative crimean figure. It's a plain Latorre figure but painted completely different. Why not try to think of something like that? Dare to walk of the path that too many figure painters are now following. Think outside the rules! I hope to see a lot of original figures, nomatter what figure is chosen.

Use your imagination!!!

Gino

Yes I guess you might right Gino ;)

Next time I'll paint an indian bust, I'll paint him with clown face paint and a red nose :)
To explain my imagination I'll say it's an indian with lots sence of humour

Xenofan & Costas,

One more suggestion and I'll shut up, I promise ;). When arranging the exposition page I think it'd be a good idea to post the submmisions alphabetically by last name to avoid any appearance of favoritism. If you wanted to, you could go in REVERSE alpha order if you'd really like to get a good start on that ulcer.  !

Hope Red Lancers gets fixed soon, I have four figures on order including Romeo's Templar that appears to be the current favorite for the project.

Best!
Ric

I was thinking Ric to post them from top to bottom regarding the votes that they get. So first will be the one with the most votes. I don't think that this shows any kind of favoritism, but we will think of it anyway... Thanks for your suggestion :)

Xenofon

Hi Xenofan,
I was referring to the final posting of the whole project. In other words, Bill Horan's entry, if he were to participate, would be in the "H" section. I don't think there will be a problem voting for the figure to paint if that's what you thought I was referring to. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Best!
Ric

Ok guys, PLEASE don't read into what I am saying. I'm not trying to squash this. It's just that before we go and start making plans about what to do and what not to do here on pF, don't you think we should include the owner, Gordy? After all, it's him that will have to set this all up. What we want on our end, may not be possible or, at the very least, require a lot of work for the owner. I'm not trying to kill this idea. It's just that to my knowledge, Gordy isn't aware of this. At least nothing has came down the pipeline to the moderators. I like this idea. I really do. It's just that before we start making decisions for pF, we need to make sure the owner approves. I'm sure Gordy will not have a problem, it'll just take some "tweaking" on his end to set it up.

Now.......as for me, I'm in favor of the Romeo Templar Knight. Especially since I just got back from seeing The DaVinci Code.

Interesting thought.... about to see the movie myself..... I am pretty clueless when it comes to knights, etc.

Jean Paul, let your imagination run riot, good choice.

 Cheers Steve walks

Thats the spirit Jean Paul, there is nothing stopping you!!!!

 Cheers Steve Walks

OK, I resisted posting this earlier, but fear not.....the sky isn't falling. This Public Workshop isn't dead.....quite the opposite. Please do not read into my previous post ( as some already have  ). We just needed to make sure Gordy was tracking everything that was going on because (unless I'm mistaken here) at some point in time there would be the need for a seperate forum......devoted to this idea. There isn't anyone else here who can create that forum other than Gordy. PLEASE, please....oh please feel free to PM or e mail me any questions you might have if my words are being misunderstood. We already have enough ASS/U/ME (ing).......

Thanks guys,
Jim Patrick

Oh yeah.....who's keeping the tally? Is it the Romeo Templar yet?

Yeah it is the romeo templar Jim. Second I believe is the san coullote. Tomorrow morning me and Costas we will announce in the general section the chosen figure. Now if Gordy would like to create a special forum for that, that's just fine... otherwise a post in Painting section, called People's Fun Painting will be created so we can start and discuss anything regarding the workshop.

Xenofon

Buongiorno guys and sorry for my weekend absence but iwas out of net totally .
Dear Jim , i dont think that we would like toadd any kind of problem ,or extra workonGordy regarding the workshop . Maybe what you suggested is the only one,to create a separate forum for it . But if thats pretty time consyumable or anything we can skip it using a simple post in the painting area, as Xenofon already suggested .
