Hi Friend's.
This is what I've been working on since my last bust.
This is the Tamiya kit with White Ensign Models etch.
I,m going to be working on something unusal and special for my next project, and I'm sure you will all like what I will be painting.
All the best.
Ralph.

Geez Ralph, you are all over it when it comes to modelling :D!

That's a very sharp looking piece of work, and with tiny figures too! Anyone that can rig a ship (and biplanes as well), has my respect.

Yup, a fine looking ship (y)!

Hi Joe.
Your comment's really are much appreciated.
Me I'll make/paint anything.
Cheers.
Ralph.

Hi Ralph,
I bet that looks even better close up, well done, look like you need some dexterity with that one.(y) No good for ham fisted chimps.

By the way if you paint anything and run out of projects my open plan living room and stairs could do with a dust over;)
cheers
Richie
Thank's Richie,much appreciated.
I've got plenty model's to build/paint,as for dusting I thought you were married:playful::)

Beautifully finished, Ralph!

How do you do your ocean bases? I've been experimenting with artist's acrylic gel medium, myself. I'm using 1/1200 kits to practice, and I want to use the technique on a base for a model of the USS Pennsylvania circa 1935 in 1/700. So I'm always on the lookout for others' techniques.

Prost!

Thanks Brad,much appreciated.
For the sea. I first cut a recess in 1mm plasticard I then placed the ship into the recess.I then made bow waves and waves along the sides of the ship with milliput the ship was then removed.I then covered the sea area with household filler mixed with pva and black acrylic paint about 1mm depth.Once covered I used an household paintbrush to Tap all over the filler whilst still wet.when dry I airbrushed Black all over the sea and then various dark blues. For the wake of the ship I sprayed light blue also for the waves.
About 4 coats of gloss varnish was added.this was all then left to dry for about a week.
When the ship was finished,it was glued into the recess I then used arylic gel medium and placed this all around the ship and waves I then mixed in white Tube acrylic and went over the all what was just done when near dry I used gel( with a touch of green) again to go over the area.
Hope this helps.
Ralph.

Ahoy there Ralph,
I'm feeling sea sick just looking at it, but I think I mean it to be a compliment, great detailed work and obviously the rocking didn't put you off.
Regards
Chris.
Thanks Chris,much appreciated.
Not so much the rocking as the rolling.
Or as AC/DC sang I'm a rocker I'm a roller I'm a way out of controller

I was going to ask
"OI where's the figures" but.......

Great stuff mate.

If you can get there again, I'd love you to bring that to Crewe and put it on our club stand.
I've been given a revell model of the Japanese carrier that was converted from a yamato battleship.
And am hoping to have it ready for then.
I'll deffo be using your technique mate
Cheers
Paul

It was a well meaning present, so...... Got to make it.
And two airfix classic steam locos,
Harrow; a Southern rail 'school class' and a
GWR Lion, they are in the sidings though !
