Why is it that we see a never ending production of models of Grenadiers au pied of Napoleon's Imperial Guard and very rarely any of the Chasseurs au pied? Both regiments were of the Old Guard and both saw equal action. Just interested to know why the emphasis on one and not the other.

Chris

I suspect the reasons are "Commercial". Unless you're a fan of Napoleonic figs. the rest won't be aware of the Chasseurs. e.g. How many people are aware that Napoleon's Sappeur Pompieres had 6 Fire Engines at Waterloo as part of their Corps. Ray

Hi Chris

You are correct of course but as Ray said I also think it's commercial .....very little difference as such

Perhaps we will see more but there's always a bit of conversion

Thank you for your replies Ray and Nap.

Perhaps you are correct Ray in that the Chasseurs may not be as well known, and that most know ( in Britain anyway) that the British Grenadier Guards took their name from the Grenadiers au pied after Waterloo may explain it. Yet it was the I/3rd, II/3rd and 4th Chasseurs au pied that confronted the British Guards in the final assault, not the Grenadiers (1/3rd and 4th) who were further on the French right and confronted Halkett's Brigade and the Nasseurs. There are the odd Chasseur models (Historex and Metal Modeles) but it would be nice the see some bigger scales of the Chasseurs su pied rather than a never ending reproduction of the Grenadiers. For example, yet another one today https://www.planetfigure.com/thread...ers-au-pied-and-not-chasseurs-au-pied.186780/

Perhaps Grod or Mo might take the hint.

Chris
