Importance of brushes

The Raphaels are an excellent choice for two reasons :
the quality of the hair is the same as W&N 7
you get more brush for your money since they are cheaper than the W&N 7 and a typical Raphael #0 is the same as a W&N #1 in terms of size

the real difference between these two is the snap of the brush is a little bit different with the W&N being more rigid and thus better for freehand painting small designs

I also do have Da Vinci, Escoda, Rosemoary brushes.. I think I have now well over 40-50 brushes.
I am stocking since I know that one day, they will get much more expensive than they are now.

I have only retire one or two Kolinsky brushes in my last 5 years of acrylic painting
 
I use the WN brush cleaner and conditioner after I have finished the painting session, and it seems to clean out more paint than the other cleaners I have used. I have not used the soap cleaner.
Before a painting session I always dip the brush into the thinner I am using and agitate the brush to remove any conditioner in the brush. If not when you paint it will remove any paint you paint on.:eek:
