Hi Kev,
Sure, no problem. Here's my "haul":

It's a series of 9 books so far. The ones I didn't buy are Chinese Arms & Armour (which I might pick up next time), the Medieval Joust and the Renaissance Joust (neither of which I'm particularly interested in as modelling subjects).
The format is 100 pages paperback including covers, each one measuring 23 cm x 17 cm, which makes them slightly smaller than an Osprey but about the same thickness. They cost £9.99 each (the current in-store offer is "3 for 2, cheapest free" which I took advantage of) although for some reason the English Civil War one is £12.99 despite being the same size.
Here are a few random pages from the Japanese volume that's relevant to this thread. Should give you an idea.

There's some combination of photos, drawings, paintings, maps etc. on every double page. As far as I can tell, all of the photos are of actual exhibits at the Armouries. There is some incredible stuff there dating from Ancient Greece right up to the present day. Admission is totally free (there are boxes for voluntary donations here & there and it'd be rude not to chuck a few quid in), and it's well worth a visit if you get the chance.
They hold an annual jousting tournament as well, coming up in April. The only slight down-side to the experience is that some of the cabinets are very dimly lit, which can make it hard to see all the detail on the exhibits and read the info plaques. However the reason for that is because excessive light can fade and damage them over time. So although unfortunate, it's understandable.
