Hi Guys ,

I downloaded this update on my ipad last night , its was initially very slow in loading now I cannot turn the ipad off.

Anyone else having any issues

They are already on IOS 8.0.2 as the 8.0.1 had issues. I bitterly regret updating at all. I have lost most of the storage space in my 16 gb machine, my favourite app that I had downloaded some important youtube docs onto no longer works, and I can no longer cut, copy, paste in PF or other site text boxes. Next time someone tells me Apple is better than Windows the discussion may last longer than in the past. I am waiting for IOS 8.0.3 but I expect I will need to delete all my remaing apps and photos to make room for it.

Downloaded it. Still can't cut, copy paste in a dialogue box. Thanks for improving my iPad Apple! Had to erase my vid app so now I basically have internet, netflix, you tube, face book and a camera with less than 1 Gb free out of 16. I used to love my iPad.

I have an iPad 2 and also am sorry I updated. My internet is buggy, my email is very buggy, youtube is buggy. My storage space also seemed to fill up fast too. I didn't realize that the iOS program took so much space.

Sorry to hear your woes, gents, but it's a familiar story.

Never be an 'early adopter' is the moral. The time to upgrade anything is 3 to 6 months after the release when some, if not all, of the bugs have been ironed out.

Personally I lost my appetite for new technology some time back - I'm sticking to Snow Leopard and my old MacPro until I'm absolutely forced to give them up

Ahhh .. Were are the good old days ?

I second 'sippog'.
It would appear that the designers of this memory-ravenous upgrade gave absolutely no thought to their customers' needs.
I've always taken my son's advice and kept a suitably long bargepole between me and any i-gadget.

I HATE TECHNOLOGY, I'm giving up and building a log cabin in the woods where I'll sit and whittle bits of wood all day away from it all .
I've just had a week of hell , first my account into my mobile phone wouldn't respond to my passwords . This is to long a story to go into here but over a week various calls to their tech people (India) didn't resolve the problem , mainly because they cut me off after 15 minutes . Got feed up with this and found out who the chairman was for this company and email him direct telling him what a **** company he was running and I would contact every consumer program going so other people would be aware off their poor service . 24 hours later everything resolved even with them admitting there tech guys had told some porky pies . I can't name the company but Kevin Bacon is earning a fortune from the adds ;).
OK after that the hard drive on the computer crashes, no nothing , lights up comes on and that's it can't do anything with it not even turn it off only at the plug . Fortunately a week before I had repaired a shower for a mate who's a computer wiz and rather than take money at the time I said if I need a favour we will sort it out then . I think I got the better deal , new clean hard drive after two days and everything back to normal . But how much time lost on both these problems around about 3 days with nothing to show for it :arghh::arghh:

So now I'm offered IOS upgrade 8.1.... Will it undo annoyances of 8.0.2 or is it even worse?
I am very wary of upgrades now....

Thanks for any advice.

Adrian

I have been very reluctant to download it and will now not bother anymore, thanks for the heads up. Apple has done more than enough to screw up my iPad. I am still ranting daily about ios8. The guts to call it an upgrade...
What I find even more frustrating however that it is impossible to go back to ios7.

Just updated to 8.1.1 on my ipad 2. Safari wouldn't load new screen so I tried to reboot. Now it won't restart. It's stuck with an apple logo on the screen. I now have a super expensive paper weight. I am so upset!

Update on my update. After over an hour, the reboot finally finished just as I was walking into an Apple Store for some help.
My iPad is now working slightly better than before but not anywhere near what it was like on iOS 7.
