Amazing work there Stathis. I was lucky enough to see more of your work at Athens Show this year, so i know very well how highly skilled sculptor you are. I can't get enough of this figure and i keep looking it all the time. I hope for the best at Saint Vincent :)

P.S.(sorry for Greek) Opws eipe kai o Kwstas, ftiakse alles 2, mia na exw na vafw egw kai mia o Kostis. :)

Well , being close to thye sculptor , i am not amazed by the level of this work , but how he carries the ideas he has in mind , and he describes them to meand after some months i see them already sculpted. I think the sculpting level is top rate , and the display surrounding is finely adjusted to the needs. I know the effort and reserach u put for the sculpted details and i think u have a 100% succes .

I wish this could be commercial piece , so that we could try to paint one of these..but then some times one of a kind..is so special.....

Many Bravos my brother.

Sorry for the Greek but i need to do it !!

many greatings to all

babis :) :) :)

That is some first class beautiful sculpting! ;)

To me the face is the best feature! It's just remarkable in its maturity and it conveys strength and character. And in 54mm! The decoration on the building is choice! How many hours [weeks?] did that take? The folds in the drapery - I can't imagine anybody doing that any better!

What's your next project? Any chance of a 120mm figure? Or even just the face in 120mm? I'd really like to have a casting of that face in 120mm! For me, that would have beaucoups potential for conversions. If you don't do it, I may have to take a shot at trying to duplicate it in 120mm myself. That ought to be good for a laugh.

Have you tried Magicsculpt? Probably would hold detail just as well as A+B and Duro in combination and is usually cheaper.

All the best,
Dan

Since this topic seems to be dormant, I thought I'd ask the question: has there been any movement on Mike Stelzel's offer to Stathis regarding the Islamic Warrior - or other figures? I would like to see this figure commercially produced; it's my era of interest.

Glen, Unless the figure was copied, I believe this is a one-off figure. i found this photo on one of the galleries for the Saint vincent show. It's a great figure, one that would have probably done well commercially.~Gary

Hi guys just got back from Italy where i was with Stathis and 10 more members of Athens Star Club . This is the original and one only figure of Babis Islamic Warrior, that won a Silver Medal in Master Open Category, and possibly could have won more . This will not be commercially produced , and is already sold to a collector , despite the fact that Babis had more than 5 offers to sell it from Collectos in Italy .

Soon u will see his commercial work for well known brands in figure market . And with some surprising stuff!!!!!. We shared a room at St. Vincent and as he is close friend , i happen to know .

Excellent work there! I really enjoy the folds in the clothing and duro-patterns on the building in the back.

best regards

Joachim
