That's tremendous Brian. I like it a lot.

I've had one eye on this figure myself. What's it like in terms of casting quality and fit? Any issues with it?

The casting quality and fit of parts are first rate Steve. The only issue i had was once i had finished him, i accidentily broke off his pointing finger.I spent about 2 hours looking for it,but gave it up to the carpet monster and made a finger for him. He's a bit of an ugly looking chap, but it's taken from a mounted statue of the actual person,so it's accurate.

Nice one Brian.Since everyone is asking questions.....What is your choice of paints for the armour?

Regards,
Wayne

Hi Wayne
I undercoated the armour with Dark star's Baroque acrylic paint, and then using a mix of lamp black, and a bit of burnt umber.I applied this mix over the armour unthinned and started taking it off with a large flat brush, making sure you don't get any brush marks on the armour.Once this was all dry,( usually a couple of days at least) I then used Dark Star's Steel for the highlights and lamp black oil for the deep shading.I would suggest you apply the oils on and brush off in sections.

One of the best works I've seen in a long time.I am a little biased though, this being one of my favourite periods of history and all.Your rendition is amazing.

Oda.

Great looking result Brian .......... wait a minute! ... is that foliage I see? ......... has the world gone mad??????

Yes i admit it's foilage Derek,He's just trampled through someones flower garden, and he's not too happy with the wee woman that's giving him grief, hence the pointed figure.
The wee woman is gesturing with 2 fingers, and if it wasn't for his armour ,she would let her, trained to kill, poodle savage him.
