That's a beautifully done piece of a neglected era of Japanese military history . I'd be interested in seeing some of your samurai. Do you have anything up in a gallery?
...That's a figure from a VERY interesting period in history which is somewhat neglected. This was the first time a "Western" or "European" power was defeated by a "non-european" country. You could say that it was in some respects the beginning of a new era.
Thanks for your comment. I haven't start the samurai project as I haven't decided to do which one yet, most probably Sakaibara Yasumasa or Shibata Katsuie. Though I was brought up in a place heavily influenced by Japanese culture ( Hong Kong ) and can be able to draw convincing samurai pictures when I was a kid ( seen a lot of samurai movies ) , sculpting one is a totally different ball game. I had spent a lot of time in the last three years gathering materials and should be able to start the project very soon.
