it's time to start to paint the figure...

as usual I primed it with tamiya grey spray



and after drying and making the small correction necessary I startted to paint the horse directly on the grey

I choosed to paint a dark bay inspiring from the following picture



job has bee done in oils in more than one step

Always great to see something painted with oils. Just the feel of color, no 2 drops of thit and that.
Great Ivo.
One question: you never undercoat your figure? Just starting with the oils on the primer.
How you manage the transparent colors.... how many times should you paint then.

In this case I didn't undercoat the horse. Isn't a rule that's depend of the transparency I need. This horse has been painted four times specially in the colored area

Oils have to be worked wet on wet. When I return to complete an area I always paint wet on wet using less color and enhancing the oils transparencies
