When sculpting, sculptors usually make a wire skeleton and this part looks like it’s not been quite fleshed out. Easy fix for Jeff I’m sure but definitely needs some attention.

I love Jeff’s work, always have, hopefully he can get this one dialled in because I love the composition.

Too bad the sculpts seem to lack refinement however. That hand is notable, but other areas will require work to fix as well. To me the whole set feels like older Maurice Corry sculpts. Great from a distance, but time-consuming up close. Jeff’s older work is much more refined.

I just got the email from andyshhq for pre order of 1/16th M8. Of course I made the order.

Wife got me 1/16 Stug III for Christmas which of course needs riders. So time to budget up some funds and make a big order from Jeff.

Love the natural poses and overall look of this set!!!
I think if Jeff slowed down and put more effort into sculpting "finished figures" and found a better caster without those silly jagged edges he would sell more figures. I know he says he needs to make a living but in my opinion, his quality is getting worse than when he first started. I would say stop worrying about recasters and improve your sculpts and look at S&T part break down and get rid of those silly jagged edges, no one else does them because they are not the best. I love your sculpts and range of movement but even your finished sculpts are starting to look like recasts or a mix of figures slapped together like Verlinden before they shut down. Jeff you are a great sculptor but your figures now don't show how talented you are. Jeff this isn't to put you down I just hope it resets your path. This is from a fan of your older work and a fan that awaits what he knows you're capable of

One thing's for sure, the JS buying experience isn't what it used to be. On a number of levels.

So don't beg, don't buy ... and maybe he'll rethink his business model. It never used to be like this, and it's a real shame that this is the way things have gone.

I haven't commented on this for a while. But it has been brewing on my mind. I can't say for sure if I would continue purchasing in the volume I used to (if even allowed..). After being a regular purchaser of his kits and able to email with him to being banned from purchase and getting no answers - it has left a really bad taste. I don't like being accused of, or put on the list of assumed parties helping to get recasters items to copy. And frankly I'm tired of having friends buy from him for me. I do like his work and always have. He is a great artist with a lot of talent. I've offered and reached out many times to get no response.
I agree, and will not "beg" anyone to take my money. Hey, I hate to say it, but it's true. If he won't sell to me or you, just wait, as you'll likely be able to find it for a lot less if you really want it bad enough. There are a lot of people he won't sell to that will still end up with his kits or their "likeness". The way I see it is that his own actions are actually driving people to purchase from the people he's trying to avoid. They would've bought from him but his own business model has turned away funds and likely damaged relationships.
Sorry about the rant-just sharing my perspective...right or wrong...just my perspective.

Exactly this. And I said the same in another JS thread a week or two ago (the one where he accused the OP of buying recasts, whereupon the OP posted up photos of the original JS boxes and The Man Himself didn't even have the courtesy to apologise).

His paranoia about recasters is alienating customers, and can ultimately only be self-destructive. It's as though JS believes that a customer's first thoughts upon ordering one of his kits is "How can I get this to a recaster??!!" as opposed to just "This is a cool piece and I'm really looking forward to painting it!!" It's bonkers.

I don't know if Jeff casts his figures himself or if he uses local (Chinese!!) casters. But if it's the latter, maybe he should look closer to home for his villains instead of blaming innocent guys on other continents who've bought his figures in good faith and put money into his pocket.

And I for one applaud you for it. Maybe if more guys spoke up and said "This is no way to treat your customer base Jeff, it's just not on" rather than just posting up their usual fawning platitudes, he'd rethink his approach, focus on what really matters and things could get back to how they used to be with JS, i.e. high-quality figures (as opposed to the rough-around-the-edges stuff he seems to be churning out now) with a pleasant & speedy buying experience for the punter.

I have noticed the quality issue too..... I have some of his first kits released- they are much better cast and sculpted. When I did the D Day diorama, the figures were horribly cast compared to the earlier figures. I am sure he would of replaced them. It was easy enough to fix them, but the details still need work. bummer.
