The pose & subject are reminiscent of the famous Rosengrant piece from days of yore, but it's still very nice in its own right and the StG 44 gives it a new twist. I like this one.

I like it! Thats a great face.

My only (personal)peeve is the STG-44 is almost as overused as the MP-40 and MG-42 for figures. The good ole Mauser rifle was still the most prevalent weapon throughout the war. I know its not as cool as the STG or MP-40, but I would like to see a few more figs in this scale carrying it. But hey, quibbles, when it comes to new 1/9 figs, I'm not gonna complain too much.

Did Peter Weller pose for this?

I like it, the pose and weapon choice, not withstanding the observations of my learned colleague above, who is correct.

Keep up the good work, Jeff.

My two cents: the weapon was not that rare in the final stages of WWII - all in all a total number of 424000 was produced. Problems occured due to limited stocks and low supplies of the special ammunition. But without question the K 98 remained the standard weapon of the German Army throughout the war. The figure is very nice - the cold weather equipment allows dynamic folds and to avoid the details needed to model the uniform underneath. Nevertheless I know by personal experience that even under harsh weather conditions you tend to avoid cumbersome warm clothing when possible if action is expected - indicated by the pose of the figure. A greatcoat plus rainshelter will wear you down quite fast in combat. That said, still a nice change from the rare Kharkov parka to a more regular uniform. Well done Jeff and keep them coming - maybe a regular German in summer uniform next time?
